When I get time alone with my youngest of 4 it’s a rare occasion. We call it Mommy & Reesy Day and not always, but I often try and do something fun with her we don’t often do. Yesterday we decided to head the the Heritage Center Museum right in the heart of our beautiful city here in Bismarck, North Dakota. A few years ago now the state completely rebuilt and expanded this Museum, and it is such a kid friendly environment… complete with a child’s play area for the kids to enjoy and unwind after taking in all the joys of this wonderful place. After years of photographing my children and having no inspiration, I have taken the past few years to really capture my children intentionally. I do try to take my camera with us wherever we may go( If you need to get camera ideas find them here http://www.rachaelnevaphoto.com/shopmycamerabag/dslr-cameras/ ), and especially when I have one on one time with my littlest. I really use the opportunities to tell a story throughout the adventure. I am fully aware that this season in mine, and her lives is so quickly passing…. I want to remember her this way. Her tiny face as she discovers life outside of our home, the way she smiles when she is thrilled at a new and exciting site, the joy she has to just be with me, and how she always has a heart of gratitude once the adventure comes to a close. Here is our latest adventure together…
Her beautiful reflection …
Her reaction to the beautiful and intricate work that the creator of this clothing had done.
A different look at the stars…
As I looked at this picture later the words from Hillsong United’s song titled “So Will I” ran through my head. They read…. And as You speak
A hundred billion galaxies are born
In the vapour of Your breath the planets form
If the stars were made to worship so will I
I can see Your heart in everything You’ve made
Every burning star
A signal fire of grace
If creation sings Your praises so will I
Her joy when she laughed at herself laughing back at her.
Her stunning profile God so perfectly shaped.
Jesus take the wheel…
I am so very BLESSED to have been chosen to be your mommy,
You are my heart…
